Conscious Connections with Clive Tempest

CHI GUNG, SHIBASHI TAICHI, CONSCIOUS LIVING

Classes, workshops and retreats with Clive Tempest
in Taunton, Somerset, UK, and in Finland

2021 During the current pandemic, and because of government restrictions, there is a provisional programme of classes for 2021 and two retreats are in the plan. Details here. The Summer Retreat at Labbnäs in Finland scheduled for 12 - 15 August sucessfully went ahead. And the Autumn Retreat in Sussex, 18 - 22 October has now been confirmed and booking is open. The online 'Course in Conscious Living' continues and latest audio releases are included on the Audio page.

Chi Gung or qigong is the basis of taichi. Its postures and movements provide a gentle form of exercise that is both relaxing and energising. In taichi the exercises are practised in sequence to promote wellbeing and a balanced approach to life.

Clive Tempest uses chi gung as a practice for living more consciously and helps you appreciate the principles encoded in the taichi forms. These principles are founded in the ancient wisdom of taoist sages and can still guide us day to day.

Conscious Connections workshops and retreats. Opportunities to go deeper into the meditative qualities of the practice, connecting the physical exercises to the bigger picture of everyone's life.

CHI GUNG CLASSES Autumn Programme

AUTUMN RETREAT 18 - 22 October

NEW ONLINE COURSE Coming Soon

Programme Classes, workshops and retreats were suspended until June 2021 because of the pandemic. Until March 2020 there were weekly classes in Taunton for intermediate and more advanced practitioners, introductory courses for beginners and workshops and retreats in England and in Finland. Details of current plans here.

The Hestercombe Chi Gung Group People who do classes also meet on Saturday mornings in Hestercombe Gardens near Taunton, from Easter to October. Taichi is traditionally practised outdoors in nature and the Gardens provide a beautiful Somerset setting. These sessions are currently suspended.

Intensive Courses for Beginners have been held once or twice a year to introduce newcomers to the basic shibashi exercises and the essential principles of this work. These courses are currently suspended.

Talks & Meetings Chi gung practice can be seen as the groundwork for living more consciously, which means being relatively free of psychological stress - free enough to know the purpose of your life and be fulfilled in whatever you do. Meetings are held periodically to develop this aspect of the work. Recordings of some meetings are now available for download.
