A Residential Retreat in West Sussex UK: 21-27 April 2017
Take the time to break your momentum. Turn away from the psychological life. Allow the coming of the new.
Chi gung practice, talks and personal dialogues with Clive Tempest in a lovely early 19th Century country house set in extensive grounds and woodland, in West Sussex,
one of the most beautiful parts of England.
Dunford House is less than an hour's journey south of London and 40 miles from Gatwick Airport.
The complete retreat starts on Friday evening 21 April and ends after breakfast on Thursday 27 April.
There will be three chi gung sessions each day with talks and meditations in the afternoon and evening, from Saturday noon until Tuesday afternoon.
On Wednesday there will be a coach tour to Petworth House and possibly also Arundel Castle, including chi gung practice in outdoor locations.
Petworth is a magnificent mansion famous for its art collection and parkland. See the links below.
The 'Coming of the New' brings the opportunity to live in a more conscious way – more thoughtless, less selfish, less rational,
more marvellous, more passionate and much less self-centred; a more generous and simple way of living, without avoidance or regret,
free of expectation, speculation, opinions and attitudes.
And with the coming of the new must inevitably come a love of what is most real – a real love.
Our civilisation appears to be feeling its age. The signs are that it's in terminal decline.
How much time is left? How long before we run out of hope? We have to face it:
For all our progress there is no more justice in the world today than in all our yesterdays. What can you do about it?
You can live more consciously and in that way make your contribution to the coming of a new dimension to human life, one relatively free of the human condition as we know it.
Making a contribution to the evolution of consciousness means evolving as a true individual.
Every individual shares one intelligence and it acts in the same way in every body, according to certain principles.
These principles are encoded and enacted in the practice of chi gung and taichi. So the basis of the work in this retreat,
and in anything you do with Clive Tempest, is the chi gung practice – used to alert you to the core principles and help you incorporate them.
That's one half of the process. The other requires you to open yourself to 'the bigger picture',
the vast scheme of what intelligence is doing on earth and how we can serve its purpose in the daily detail of our lives.
The practice and the talks and dialogues produce the energetic field necessary for the introduction of a new consciousness.
Accommodation at Dunford House is in pleasant rooms, almost all with en-suite bathrooms. Most have twin or double beds. They can be allocated for single occupancy.
Meals are served in a separate building and will be mostly vegetarian. A vegan option is available on request.
